I was badgered to post a new blog entry, so here I am doing just that.

The biggest problem with this, however, is I have nothing on the tip of my brain to talk about. So I’ll fall back on an old standby and check out the headlines on CNN.com and give my unsolicited, non-expert opinion on things. Here goes.

• Politics and Primaries and Pundits, Oh My! – No thanks. Wake me up when November comes.
• NASA examines shuttle; illness prompts spacewalk delay – There’s a hint of awesome in the air here. What we’re looking at is potential damage caused (potentially) during space shuttle Atlantis’s launch and ascent. Then, out of nowhere, the astronaut planned to do a spacewalk is experiencing what NASA will only call a “medical issue.” CNN claims there can often be nausea or disorientation during blah blah blah. It’s obvious what’s going on here. Some kind of alien’s sitting up on the atmosphere (yeah…I know, right?) and all of a sudden sees the phallic spaceship flying right for it. Not bothering to stick out its clawed, scaly thumb to hitchhike, the alien (who I’ll now call Edward), punches a hole in the hull with its face and jumps on-board. Then Edward eats the astronaut who was supposed to spacewalk with five or six of his many mouths. Case closed.
• Man hid wife in drum for 23 years – An Australian man killed his wife with bullets, freaked out, and put her in a steel drum in his backyard 23 years ago. He then told their daughters she ran off with a truck driver. Then a son-in-law found the drum with her body in it recently and he was put on trial for and convicted of murder. His defense was that he found her in bed with two gunshot wounds in her head and one of his ties around her neck. Like she slipped while she was cleaning (while wearing one of his ties very tightly around her neck) and landed on the bed on top of their lucky pillow bullets. That would have been my defense. In fact, forget you read that in case I ever need to use it. Honestly, when I saw the headline, I though it meant like a drum drum and that some musician just hadn’t noticed until now that his resonance just wasn’t were it should be.
• Tentative deal may end writers’ strike – I like the sound of this! If I have to hear one more Jeff Foxworthy joke, I’m going to dropkick my very heavy TV. I miss you, writers. Please come home.
