Can You Hear Me Now?

Arrgh. Why do I quote things I hate? That series of “Can You Hear Me Now” commercials has destroyed for me any possibility of finding out if I’m coming through the other end of a phone or if someone else is coming through the end of mine. Any time someone, even if completely innocently, lets that foul, trite, loathsome phrase escape their lips, I’m tempted to screech “NO! NO, I CAN’T!” and throw my phone at a child’s face.

Phew. Where was I? Oh yeah, being heard.

Well, the folks at Talkshoe have created the newest Nerd Sensation, a live call-in version of the familiar podcast format. The first one I took part in was hosted by Tom Brazelton of Theater Hopper fame. The homepage for his talkcast is here and you can download the various installments thus far. I can be heard schmucking around on the first two, which are available for downloading or streaming.

ROCKPODI also recorded my first ever appearance at Digital Strips today, looking at Dean Trippe’s online comic Butterfly. DS is a podcast dedicated to looking deep into the crusty eye of online comics. They’ve been rocking and rolling for a long time now (my installment is number 102) and Daku, the current primary element, certainly knows his stuff. I was supposed to be part of installment 101, but I had a cold that I apparently gave to Daku via e-mail, as he was a little sniffly today.

The final part of my Yirmumah Trilogy Of Awesome is up. Something transforms. Someone kicks things. It’s magical.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve. I’m drinking cocoa and watching “A Year Without A Santa Claus” with my son all the while pretending it’s not 72 degrees outside and I’m not running the air conditioning. Stupid Virginia.
