Globetrotter Or Something Like It

Hey there, folks! I’m writing this post from sunny South Dakota where, actually, it’s nighttime and isn’t sunny at all. The clock on the nightstand says 11:43 and the clock on my computer says 12:44, so I’m apparently in Central Plus A Minute Time right now.

“Why are you in South Dakota right now?” several people may be asking (several meaning two). Well, I’m helping my mother make a large move from Maryland to Seattle, Washington. Maybe that’s too much detail. As long as I don’t mention she’ll be living on Ashwood Street, I should be fine. Oops. Crap. Listen, don’t bother her out there. If you really need something, though, her phone number is 505/581-0023. Just, you know, for emergencies. We have to be respectful of her privacy.

So far we’ve driven through several states that look more or less exactly the same. I’ve come to the conclusion that when we stopped in Kentucky night before last, we were whisked back to Maryland in our sleep and started over the same trip with the road signs having been changed. The landscape has changed little aside from the land getting flatter and the sky, somehow, getting taller.

If I weren’t so tired, I’d be sharing pictures right now. But I am, so I’m not. So there.
